Case Management

Goodwill Industries provides guidance and support to assist participants to achieve self-sufficiency. Counseling is provided to address situational barriers and referrals are made to other community agencies for additional necessary services. Supportive services to participants may include direction and referrals for such services as childcare, medical and mental health assistance. In addition, Goodwill facilitates the activities to assist the participant to address social and work-related needs.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy assists individuals to develop, improve or restore the highest possible level of self-sufficiency. Those limited by physical injury or mental illness, developmental or learning disability or an adverse environmental condition can benefit from this service through education, evaluation, consultation and follow-up. Goodwill’s Occupational Therapy staff help pave the road to independence.

Persons who can benefit from occupational therapy include:

• People with work-related injuries in vocational settings
• People with barriers resulting in difficulty securing or sustaining competitive employment
• People who need adaptations or accommodations within the vocational setting
• Organizations wanting to provide rehabilitation services to their members

Vocational Evaluation & Counseling

A Facility-Based Assessment is a comprehensive vocational assessment that lasts 4 weeks and includes a 2-3 week situational assessment in the clerical or industrial center. A final report is provided listing the individual’s vocational interests, strengths and limitations, need for accommodations and support, and career planning recommendations.

Assessments include:

• Identification of vocational aptitudes and academic abilities
• Vocational exploration to identify job interests
• Work sampling to assess skills
• Situation assessment to determine work habits and behaviors
