The E-commerce associate will work with Store Managers, leadership team and staff to evaluate items to list for sale on various websites. Responsible for the day to day E-Commerce operations including scanning, posting, organizing, storing and shipping books and other media using Indaba inventory management software.
High school graduate or equivalent. Solid mathematical skills required.
EXPERIENCE: Candidates should possess customer service experience and experience with Microsoft Office. Be able to properly operate a digital camera. Must have working knowledge of internet and on-line sales. Experience using inventory management software a plus.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: Ability to work effectively with diverse staff, youth, customers and vendors. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Ability to write simple correspondence, postings and item descriptions using creative and technical writing skills. Good organizational skills. Must have excellent customer relation skills. Must be able to work independently and be flexible in a multi-duty environment. Must be able to make decisions quickly, and be able to work within established guidelines. Must have the ability to make sound judgment on sellable value. Must be computer literate. Must have knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software. Working knowledge of inventory management software desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands, talk or hear; occasional reaching with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by the job include color vision. The employee must often lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May be required to sit and stand and use a keyboard or scanner for up to 8 hours at a time. This position occasionally may require twisting and bending.
POSITION DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Drive production and shipping for eBooks. Manage inventory/purge process to insure sellable products are posted. Manage quality control in both incoming products as well as shipping procedures. Ensure that product is being shipped correctly from the stores to eCommerce processing area. Unpacks and examines incoming store shipments, rejects damaged items. Ensure that incoming product is being processed according to standards and in a timely fashion. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Weigh, measure, pack, label and ship items via the most effective methods using the shipping program and packaging guidelines, and continuously look for improvements and cost savings. Clean and display items on inventory shelves in e-commerce area, maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies and ensure the workstations are clean and free of any safety hazards. Provide excellent customer service by answering all questions, calls and emails and ensure orders are processed accurately and within 24 hours of payment of receipt. Establish follow up procedures to ensure consistent levels of customer satisfaction. Maintain excellent standings with seller feedback. Follow up with any buyer’s feedback that has a rating of three (3) or below. Answer all buyer email questions and respond to each in a timely manner.
